Empowering Creatives in Emerging Markets
Our mission is to support creatives in the Caribbean by addressing talent scarcity and revenue challenges. By expanding into new markets and overcoming platform limitations, we aim to build sustainable careers for local artists.
Problem of Scale
One of our primary challenges is a lack of enough creative talent (particularly music artists) in our current market. This hinders our ability to generate the revenue required to make our business sustainable. To overcome this, we need to expand into other Anglophone Caribbean markets to identify new clients and projects for investment.
Limited Revenue
Another significant obstacle to scaling is that YouTube, a widely used platform for streaming music in Trinidad and Tobago, does not generate royalties since the country is not one of YouTube’s monetized territories. This limits the revenue potential for local artists and reduces overall financial returns.
Stackable Credentials Program
Our program will be built on the concept of Stackable Credentials to provide a flexible, skill-based learning journey for creatives. The program will consist of three layers:
• Layer 1: Foundation – The essentials, covering basic knowledge and skills.
• Layer 2: Specialization – Intermediate-level topics based on the user’s area of interest.
• Layer 3: Enhanced Specialization – Advanced skills branched out into multiple segments, allowing users to further focus on their specific interests.
Each topic will include a curated playlist, offering Transversal Competencies (broad skills that cross different areas) instead of a linear learning path. Users will start with the foundational elements, and then choose their own journey, diving deeper into specialized topics.
The program will be structured into timed layers, with each phase lasting a specific number of weeks. For example, the foundational layer may take three weeks to complete. The program will be modeled after best practices from platforms like Masterclassand Udemy, incorporating video lessons and Monk Labs for in-person practice.
